Chateau La Tour Blanche

The colour is golden yellow, limpid and brilliant. On the nose aromas of crystallised fruits, apricot, candied lemon, very ripe white fruits are revealed with a great intensity. In the mouth the attack is very supple and rich with plenty of ripe, fresh, yellow and white fruits, and loads of candied citrus. A nice balance and a great length in mouth make this wine very complex.

Wine Advocate

La Tour Blanche's spectacular 2001 boasts a light to medium gold color as well as a big, exotic nose of tropical fruits, honeysuckle, orange marmalade, and creme brulee. In the mouth, notions of peaches, lychees, and caramelized citrus give way to a weighty, full-bodied, concentrated yet incredibly precise and well-delineated sweet white. It is a tour de force in Sauternes! Anticipated maturity: 2009-2035.

Score: 97. —Robert Parker, June 2004.

Wine Spectator

Very intense aromas of candied lemons, fresh flowers and vanilla. Full-bodied, very sweet and spicy. Long, long finish. Excellent. Best after 2009.

Score: 93. —James Suckling, September 15, 2004.
