Fratelli Oddero

Sort results:
The Oddero family has been making wines since the end of the nineteenth century in La Morra, a village in the Langhe, an area of elongated, vineyard-clad hills that stretch out to the right of the River Tanaro and the town of Alba. The vineyards and farms have always belonged to the family, as is testified to by village documents dating back as far as the 1700's. Deeds and photographs take us back to the brothers, Lorenzo great-grandfather of the current owners - and Luigi, born at the beginning of the 19th century, who were the first probably in 1878 to use the Nebbiolo grapes to produce their own wine, though it was initially sold more in kegs than bottles. Lorenzo Oddero (1821-1903) was followed by Giacomo, then Giovanni, and finally Giacomo and Luigi, who are today helped by their daughters and by technicians and staff who have been dedicated to the family for many years.
